Paso Fino Horses

Donna and I enjoy riding our beautiful Paso Fino Horses, and El Pequeno Sueno (Small Dreams) is the name of our farm in Magnolia, Texas.  However, between work and work on our property, we never seem to have as much time as we would like with our guys!

We are active in the Texas Paso Fino Horse Association (TxPFHA), and are very interested in Parelli Natural Horsemanship (www.Parelli.com).  Work with these organizations is very rewarding!

To get a better understanding of why we both fell in love with Pasos, below are some pictures of our beautiful horses:

Excelente Sueno

Excelente Sueno (Excellent Dream), known to us as Excel, is a beautiful Line-back Dun (Buckskin) registered Paso Fino gelding with a thick black mane and tail and four black tiger-stripe legs.  He has a gentle disposition, beautiful conformation, and an exquisite gait.  He has taken me well into my Level 3 Parelli studies, and some have called him my trained dog rather than a horse...  Our favorite Parelli discipline is Liberty, but recently we have been exploring Cutting as a future pastime!

While Excel isn't our first Paso, I fell in love with him the first day I was introduced to Pasos at Jerry Steinbrook's farm in Magnolia, Texas.  Excel was a bit too young at that time, and still a stallion, so I decided to purchase a gelding (see Consul below).  However, Jerry called out of the blue a year or so later, and made me a deal I just couldn't pass up.  My initial plan was to breed him, but later decided to geld him so he would be easier to take on trail rides and pleasure events.  Basically, he is my boy!!!

Consul de Calidad

Consul was our first Paso Fino.   He was purchased from Jerry Steinbrook at S&S Paso Fino Farms in Magnolia, Texas.  Consul is a dark brown Bay gelding with a black mane, tail, and legs with two white stocking feet on the rear.  He is twelve years old now, and while he may be a bit stocky for a Paso, he is beautiful to look at and to ride!  Consul is my wife, Donna's, horse now, and he is her favorite!

After riding Quarter Horses all my life, I was amazed at the comfortable ride of Paso's and Consul in particular!  He is an excellent trail horse & has provided us with many pleasurable hours riding around our home.  I would recommend a Paso to anyone who is interested in a spirited but gentle horse for themselves or their family.  They're great!!!
